Maps. Instructions. Directions. Every where you turn, someone seems to be telling you what to do or where to go. Even a compass who’s needle points north gives you direction when you’re seeking something. When we seek, though, we often miss the most important sights and sounds. Sometimes we need to let that something find us. And when it does, it’s powerful. Remove the needle from the compass and set your own direction.
Compass Photography captures this essence in areas that may otherwise seem mundane, typical and normal. DeAnn Gietzen looks for the most vulnerable moments – the beautiful, dirty, provocative and honest – and photographs them in a way that, often, no words are needed to tell its story.
All images are taken using simple techniques. For more information on the photos, or to purchase, contact DeAnn Gietzen at firstname.lastname@example.org.
